Started from last week onward I was involving in explosive training for my vertical jump training, after the 2nd workout session , I found something changed on my shooting.
After the 2nd explosive workout, I found that the release of my shooting was quicker with more force applied on the basketball which I heard a sharp sound when the ball went through the net, I started to realize something change on my body, it was the training that affected my shooting and ... ... I was excited.
It was like discover a new island which never yet exist on current map, it opened up a new world to me. I started realize how some star player like Russell Westbrook in NBA can have a quick jumpshot in their skillset, it is because they jump quicker.
Contrast to strength phase of the vertical training, strength phase made my shooting much slower, which I felt a glue between the ball and my finger.
During strength phase, my body was much slower and feeling heavier, the effect of strength training was like making the ball on my hand weigh 200-300 grams heavier than the original weigh.
In conclusion, personally I prefer the shooting quicker rather than slow, because even if I don't play competitive ball game, the quicker release made me feel I have much smoother and much effective shoot.
